On July 19, team members of Pinnacle volunteered at the Second Harvest Food Bank in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Second Harvest Food Bank is the largest food bank in Louisiana and supports families struggling with hunger by providing access to food through their food distribution programs. Additionally, the food bank provides nutrition education programs and community support during natural disasters.
During last week’s trip, Pinnacle team members packed bags of snacks that will be given out to school children in New Orleans during the first week of school, a time that can be very difficult for families who are food insecure. Most of the Pinnacle volunteers came together from different project sites located in the Louisiana and Mississippi areas.
Each Pinnacle employee receives eight hours of paid time off per year to support their local community. Teams of Pinnacle employees volunteer at the Second Harvest Food Bank about three to four times a year.
