This past January, Pinnacle was nominated for the Houston Safety Excellence Award. The award, given by Houston Business Roundtable (HBR), recognizes a contractor who achieved an exceptional record of on-the-job safety promotion and performance during the previous year. Pinnacle was nominated for the award by a local customer for the outstanding safety performance of its onsite team during 2019.
The two-step award process required all nominees to submit their written site-specific safety program which included information such as the company’s safety goals and best practices. Finalists were announced at the Houston Area Safety Council’s (HASC) 2020 Tailgate Extravaganza where our team hosted a “backyard crawfish boil” and received the news that we will be receiving Bronze Level Recognition at the awards ceremony held in May.
In addition to recognizing the outstanding safety performance of Houston area contractors, the award process also gives participants the opportunity to learn how to improve their safety programs through the sharing of best practices from category winners. Contractors are encouraged to take the winning best practices back to their company to improve their safety performance.
