On February 25, 2020, Pinnacle employees volunteered to judge at Carter Lomax Middle School’s campus science fair. The students walked the judges through their experiments starting with their hypothesis and ending with their conclusion and what they learned in the duration of their experiment. The students were able to share their scientific discoveries through the science fair, while being able to work on their presentation skills and learn valuable information from the volunteer judges that attended.
By grading the students on their experiments and presentation skills, the judges helped the Carter Lomax Middle School science department select the students that will be moving forward to the district science fair.
It was a fun and exciting experience for all that were involved! Our employees enjoy finding ways to get involved while encouraging Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) careers and helping mold the next generation of problem solvers.
Andrea Cromer, Solutions Development Analyst, said of her experience, “This was my first time volunteering for the Carter Lomax science fair and I was floored by the amount of work these students put in. They were all so prepared and really looked forward to telling us about their experiments and getting our feedback. I’m so glad we are able to help the Pasadena community through events like these.”
