Overview
Pinnacle’s services may include standardized asset and reliability reference data developed, maintained, or licensed by Pinnacle (Pinnacle Data). Pinnacle Data helps classify, contextualize, and analyze asset and operational data.
Pinnacle Data may be linked to, mapped to, incorporated into, or displayed alongside Customer Data. Combining the two does not change their respective sources or ownership.
What Pinnacle Data Includes
Depending on the services provided, Pinnacle Data may include:
- Standard asset, system, equipment, and component taxonomies
- Asset and equipment classes, types, definitions, and attributes
- Generic equipment and component reference libraries
- Generic failure modes, causes, mechanisms, effects, and consequence categories
- Relationships between equipment types, failure modes, and degradation mechanisms
- Condition indicators and monitoring or inspection methods
- Preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance task templates
- Standard units, codes, nomenclature, mappings, and reference relationships
- Generic reliability model structures, assumptions, parameters, and benchmark ranges
- Updates, corrections, and enhancements to the foregoing
These categories are illustrative. The Pinnacle Data provided to a customer depends on the applicable service and configuration.
How Pinnacle Data Is Used
Pinnacle Data may be used within the Service to:
- Classify assets and equipment
- Apply standardized terminology to Customer Data
- Associate equipment with relevant failure modes or degradation mechanisms
- Contextualize inspection, maintenance, and condition-monitoring information
- Support reliability, risk, and maintenance analyses
- Generate customer-specific outputs using Customer Data
For example, a generic compressor classification and its associated reference failure modes, such as lubrication degradation or pressure surge, may be Pinnacle Data. The customer’s compressor identifier, configuration, operating history, condition-monitoring data, and maintenance records remain Customer Data.
When Customer Data is mapped to Pinnacle Data, the underlying Pinnacle reference item remains Pinnacle Data. Customer identifiers, customer-provided information, and customer-specific assignments or outputs remain subject to the provisions of the applicable agreement.
What Pinnacle Data Does Not Include
Pinnacle Data does not include Customer Data merely because that data is processed, classified, contextualized, or analyzed using Pinnacle Data.
Customer Data may include:
- Customer asset names, tag numbers, and asset hierarchies
- Customer equipment configurations and operating conditions
- Process and condition-monitoring measurements
- Inspection findings and maintenance records
- Work orders and failure history
- Customer documents and technical records
- Customer-specific costs, consequences, and performance information
Permitted Use
A customer’s right to use Pinnacle Data is governed by its agreement with Pinnacle. Unless otherwise provided in that agreement, Pinnacle Data may be used only with Customer Data and customer-specific outputs for the customer’s internal business purposes.
Pinnacle Data may not be extracted or used as a standalone reference dataset, or sold, published, distributed, sublicensed, or used to develop or enhance a competing dataset, model, product, or service, except as expressly permitted by the applicable agreement.
