Pinnacle congratulates Cesar Espinoza, Engineering Specialist Lead, Sudhakar Mahajanam, Senior Engineering Specialist, and Ryan DuBois, Project Specialist, for their article “Coating Application to Minimize Hydrogen Cracking in Gas Dehydration Units” being published in MP (Materials Performance Magazine). The article is featured in the August 2018, Vol 57. No. 8 issue.
The article discusses volumetric ultrasonic thickness measurements performed on the absorber column of a gas dehydration unit, which found several laminations and inclusion clusters around the chimney tray. A fitness-for-service analysis found that the defects were of considerable size and the component could not continue in operation unless mitigating actions were taken.
